Rare Still Life

I just finished a still life floral study. It's not something I do often, but I must admit I enjoyed painting it. Sometimes  as an artist  I feel the need to break away from the norm, just to keep the creative juices flowing. You can find this piece in my online gallery here -http://jmcenteno.com/store/

What style painter am I ?

One of the benefits of working primarily online is that I have the freedom to paint in any style that speaks to me. It's pretty evident from the body of work in my online gallery. As an artist  I'm constantly inspired by my surroundings as well as other artists. Even then I still find myself asking the question all artists ask themselves, what style am I? For myself  I must admit I  don't know. I've been heavily influenced by prominent abstract and landscape artists. I grew up in the city of Toronto going to the AGO to see great pieces of modern art,but I also spent much of my youth on my father's farm in the woods and fields of the  Dundalk highlands area of Ontario. Maybe all of it just adds to my diversity as an artist. I may never find an answer and so all I can really do is just keep painting. Here's a shot of a landscape piece I just finished.  It' titled: Sunrise over the little pond. You can see it here at my gallery- http://jmcenteno.com/store/
