Power Seller

I mentioned a couple weeks ago that I reached power seller status on ebay.It turns out that they've changed the program and the PS logo is no longer shown in listings.The only positive to the power seller program is the discount on fees.It 's too bad since it used to be a badge of success on ebay.

Sold Pieces

I've just sold a set of 3 florals to a great collector in Quebec, and a floral vase to a collector in Florida.I'll post pics of the sold pieces later.

I've just finished this pair of 24" x 24" florals. They're part of the wildflower series.The pieces are done in acrylic on 1.5" gallery canvas. They'll be up in my ebay store on Saturday.

New Textured Piece

I just completed a large 30" x 40" abstract piece.It has heavy texture with metallic paints drybrushed over top.The piece is titled "Metalique II" and will be for sale in my ebay store.

This piece is from a series of Rural Ontario Landscapes.The scene is from a little hamlet called Hopeville.It's titled-"Sunset on Hopeville" The size is 24" x 30" and is painted in Acrylics on canvas.

A Painting a day

I was asked the other day whether I paint all my pieces myself, or if I had a crew working for me. At first I found it odd that someone would ask that.After a few moments I understood what he was referring to.

I like to work by the painting a day concept.Where you finish a new painting everyday.Sometimes if they're small I might do two or three. I'm very lucky to be a very fast painter(unless I'm using oils).I paint by feeling out the canvas with little hesitation. It was an old art teacher of mine that taught me that "the worst thing that can happen is you have to start over again".

I also like to paint in different styles.It's the freedom of selling your own work that helps me to fight boredom as an artist.One day I might paint florals and another abstract.When I was doing more gallery work all I did was landscapes and I can't imagine doing the same thing for 40 yrs.

The ability to capture the uniqueness of differing styles to the point that it seems several people painted it is kind of cool. So I'll take it as a compliment.
